In this workshop, participants will learn the primary, essential skills needed to craft quality leather goods. We will talk about choosing leather and discuss some sources for purchasing leather. We will learn about the tools needed to complete a hand stitched leather project, how to cut and prepare vegetable tanned leather for use in a finished project, prepare and punch stitching holes, sew the traditional saddle stitch, set hardware, edge finish and more. Students will have a hands on learning experience building their own hand stitched leather wallet. They will bring home their finished project and the new skills they have learned to allow them to create their own future leather goods.
